Pramod subedi
Dr Pramod Subedi currently works as a research fellow in structural biology at the A/Prof. Megan Maher laboratory at the School of Chemistry at the Bio21 Molecular Science and Biotechnology Institute, The University of Melbourne, Parkville, Victoria, Australia.
His Ph.D. research was primarily supervised by A/Prof. Begoña Heras at the Department of Biochemistry and Genetics, La Trobe University. During his Ph.D. he worked on several research projects that combine biochemical and structural biology approaches to dissect key virulence pathways in Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli, two WHO ‘Priority Pathogens’ due to their high antibiotic resistance rates. Furthermore, he investigated how these medically important pathogens survive and multiply within our immune defence cells.
His current research interests within the Maher laboratory lie primarily in the areas of protein chemistry (with a focus on bacterial metal transporters including integral membrane proteins), structural biology and metals in biology.
